Naim, Tanveer Kausar
Pakistan

Tanveer Kausar Naim is a consultant with the
Organization of Islamic Conference’s Standing Committee on
Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH). She is
a member of the UNESCO International Advisory Board on
Reform of Higher Education and Science and Technology in
Nigeria, Member of the Gender Advisory Board of UNESCO, and
Member of the Advisory Committee of the International
Science Development Network. In addition, she has been hired
to perform a Technology Audit for Turkey and Serbia under
the 6th Framework program of the European Union. Previously,
Naim worked for the Pakistan Council for Science &
Technology (PCST), and later served as the first female
Secretary of the National Commission on Science and
Technology, the highest decision-making body headed by the
President of Pakistan. She obtained her Ph.D. in Organic
Chemistry from the University of Sussex in 1971.

Nsour, Maen
Jordan

Maen Nsour is Chief Executive Officer of the
Jordan Investment Board, a position that he has held since
May 2005. The Jordan Investment Board is the institution
entrusted by the government of the Hashemite kingdom of
Jordan to attract foreign direct investments and enhance
domestic investments in order to achieve economic prosperity
in the Kingdom. Nsour sits on the board of Jordan Dubai
Capital (JDC), Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation (JIEC),
Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) and Jordan Enterprise
Development Corporation (JEDCO). Nsour also teaches graduate
courses at the Department of Economics, University of
Jordan. Prior to his current position, Nsour was Senior
Adviser at the Regional Bureau for Arab States, United
Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York and
Coordinator of the Arab Human Development Report 2003.
During his tenure at the UNDP he was in charge of UNDP's
projects and programs in the Arab region on knowledge
economy, economic growth, and trade and investment. Before
joining UNDP in 2001, Nsour was Director of the Policy
Planning Department at the Ministry of Planning in Amman,
Jordan. Nsour taught political economy and international
trade and investment at George Mason University in Fairfax,
VA from 1993 to 1998. He was also a researcher at the United
States Institute of Peace (USIP) in Washington, D.C. between
1995 and 1998, where his research revolved around the
Israeli economy. Nsour holds a Ph.D. in political economy
from George Mason University.
