UN approves Emir's initiative on hosting Development Conference The UN General Assembly unanimously approved the initiative of the Emir of the State of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani calling for hosting the First Follow-up International Conference on Financing for Development to Review the Implementation of the Monterrey Consensus. It was decided that the meeting will be held in Doha from November 29 to December 2, 2008.
